Dome3D 2010 Recap

2010 was a very good year for Dome3D.  SpacePark360 was launched in the US in February at the Cranbrook Institute of Science.  SpacePark360 is now playing in over a dozen theaters world-wide.  While SpacePark360 was being wrapped up, production began on the trailer for Alexandria: Harbor of Knowledge.  The Dome3D team had six weeks to create a four minute 1k trailer.  The trailer was screened at the IPS conference in Alexandria Egypt.  

While production was under way on the Alexandria trailer, Dome3D was also hard at work on a series of web animations for Adaptive TCR.  These animations explained the complex science behind Adaptive's revolutionary sequencing technology.  The Dome3D team worked closely with Adaptive to ensure that the science was accurate as well as informative.

2010 also brought plenty of conferences and travel.  The annual NAB conference in Las Vegas was a highlight.  There the Dome3D team was able to get a good look at the new RED Epic camera line.  This new camera from RED will revolutionize the fulldome industry.  It will allow for both live action, time lapse and still photography capture all in one package.  Dome3D briefly stopped at SEPA to help launch the SpacePark360: Geodesium Edition premiere.  

The fall was packed full of conferences and symposiums.  GLPA held at Notre Dame was the first time Dome3D displayed the inflatable production dome.  Right after GLPA was the Jackson Hole Film Festival where Matt sat in on two panels to discuss live action capture for fulldome.  RedStick followed shortly, and it was off to Baton Rouge where SpacePark360 was screened, and the Dome3D team took the time to watch some wonderful animations from around the globe.  

As the year came to a close, Matt was off to hold a fulldome training session for the Children's Museum in West Hartford.  While there partnerships were beginning to form with both the Elumenati and Evans and Sutherland.  The year closed out with a couple of SpacePark360 sales, and the groundwork for this new website.  

2011 looks to be even a better year.  Dome3D is working on two fulldome shows as well as beginning to cultivate our new partnerships.
