MyMilwaukee was a project that Dome3D was involved in last year with the Milwaukee Public Museum. MPM houses a fulldome digital planetarium and IMAX system in the Daniel M. Soref planetarium. The goal of this fulldome project was to capture the city of Milwaukee and some of its prominent landmarks via time lapse photography.
Over a period of four days, the principal photography took place at numerous locations such as Yerkes observatory, Miller Park, the Milwaukee County Zoo, Sprecher Brewery, the Milwaukee Art Museum, and the Harley Davidson Museum.
All-in-all over 70,000 pictures were taken during the initial shooting. Matt Wooten of MPM took additional time last sequences and edited the piece. The fulldome video was rendered out at a native resolution of just under 3k x 3k for Soref's dual SXRD system.
Thanks goes out to Bob Bonadurer and Matt Wooten of MPM for allowing Dome3D to be a part of this project. Also a special thanks to Mike Narlock who contributed a great deal to this project.
